Decorative Address Book Japanese Lacquer Cherry Blossom Unused Japanese Tabs 7X5
This beautiful lacquered Japanese style address book depicting cherry blossoms was part of my mother’s estate. My parents live in Tokyo from 1959-2002 and purchased many items and antiques along the way. This was likely purchased to give to someone as a gift, however, it was found in one of the Japanese tansu (chest). It is unused and the lacquer design is gorgeous. It measures approximately 7 inches (H) by 5 inches (W). On the box their is a sticker with the kanji 鎌倉 (Kamakura) which is a quaint coastal town around 90 minutes from Tokyo that is famous for its many shrines and large outdoor buddha. This address book was likely purchased there.
