This beautiful lacquered Japanese style address book depicting cherry blossoms was part of my mother's estate. My parents live in Tokyo from 1959-2002 and purchased many items and antiques along the way. This was likely purchased to give to someone as a gift, however, it was found in one of the Japanese tansu (chest). It is unused and the lacquer design is gorgeous. It measures approximately 7 inches (H) by 5 inches (W). On the box their is a sticker with the kanji 鎌倉 (Kamakura) which is a quaint coastal town around 90 minutes from Tokyo that is famous for its many shrines and large outdoor buddha. This address book was likely purchased there.
