This item is an open-box / old-stock item which has never been used. NCR purchased Radiant Systems and Aloha so this adapter may have any of the following identifying numbers on a sticker, including: Part Number: 1639-K159 or 1639-K159-V001 (gray in color)Model # CN 10381 Rev B. B (black is color) - the second photo shows an example of this variant This adapter connects to a 9 pin DB9 female serial port end on an external device / peripheral, like compatible Star SP200 or compatible EPSON TM-T88V receipt printers. From this adapter you plug in a compatible serial cable (not included) to go between the adapter's RJ11 / RJ12 female end and the 12 volt RJ11 / RJ12 female serial COM, SER port (often labeled #3 or #4) on the back of a compatible point of sale system. Consult your technical manual for more information and to confirm compatibility. This is a common part with various NCR / Aloha / Radiant Systems POS, including the Counterpoint and P-series (P1215 / 7742, P1220, P1235, P1515, P1520, P1530, P1535, Columbus800, etc).
